Photoshoots and burying bones. Two of the dog's favorite things!

We got interviewed for a local magazine this week! And Boo and Pence managed to tear up the yard some more while devouring their new bones.

Happy Friday, everyone!

It was an eventful week here in the Urban Mushers household. But before we get into this week’s newsletter, we have one small ask…

If you enjoy reading our stories each week, we’d love if you could share our newsletter with at least one other person in your email contacts that loves dogs. Simple as that.

All you have to do is click the button below, copy the link and share it with a friend. It would mean a lot to us if you did so ❤️

Okay let’s get into our fun week…

The dogs got new bones! Actual pork femurs this time. Whatever bones we gave them last, they clearly didn’t like because they abandoned them. So, we brought home identical bones to the ones they had before that and they went to town on them!

Inevitably, we ended up with a few new holes in the yard from where the dogs “hid” their bones from each other. I (Hannah) say “hid” because they think they’re hidden when I can see them plain as day lol. But the bones are almost completely eaten already!

On Wednesday, the dogs had their interview and photo shoot with a local magazine! In last week’s newsletter, we asked you all how you thought they would do, and more than half of you thought the dogs would be nervous/shy and hide. For the most part, you all were correct!

During the interview portion, Boo laid in his crate and Pence laid on her couch. When it was time to take photos, the dogs were pretty hesitant to go out in the back yard. They nervously ran around the two gentlemen. But eventually, they got close enough to sniff them! I’m not sure if they were ever able to actually pet them though lol.

Boo would not put his ears up for the camera at all, which was unfortunate. People love his ears! I mean, who wouldn’t.

After that, we went out into the garage to show them our gear. They thought the kickbike and harnesses were pretty cool. Of course, they wanted to see the dogs in action. It was about 65 degrees, which is much warmer than we would typically run them.

We went around the block, harnessed the dogs up, and they were ready to go! Since it was hot, we only had them pull about the length of a city block for some quick photos. We did that twice. Apparently that was just enough to get the dogs super excited and wanting more lol.

The guys from the magazine seemed very impressed and thought everything was really cool. We don’t know how any of the shots came out, but the magazine gets distributed on July 27th, so we’ll find out in a couple months! We will be sure to share it with you all when it is available!

After the demonstration and photos were done, we officially put the scooter up (literally) for the summer.

We also purchased a hard-sided cargo carrier from a friend this week! This will be so much easier for us to haul all of our gear to dryland races, giving the dogs and our luggage more space.

Now we have room for a third dog too… 😉 But don’t tell Hannah I said that!

Boo and Pence are both due for their annual shots and physicals soon. Stay tuned for updates on how those go. If you’ve heard how they’ve gone in the past….we thank you for your thoughts and prayers in advance lol.

Have a great weekend!
