Happy Friday, everyone! We hope you have a good Memorial Day weekend.

Speaking of Memorial Day weekend, the Indianapolis 500 is on Sunday, and it is a HUGE deal in Indiana. There could be some severe weather in the area though. Hopefully the storms hold off until after the race. It will be Riley’s first time attending the 500!

Here is a quick throwback photo when we took Boo to the Indianapolis 500 track during COVID when the race was postponed for a few months.

It’s been a busy lasts couple of weeks at our house, with Riley and I both out of town for a few days each. During that time, the dogs enjoyed being able to stretch out a little more in bed with one less person in the house.

But all is right in the world now. We are both home together with the dogs.

It’s been super hot here, like nearly 90 degrees multiple days, so we’ve had to wait until late in the evening or just after dark to take the dogs on their walk. But, this gave us the perfect opportunity to use their Noxgear Lighthound harnesses again!

We LOVE the Noxgear Lighthound harnesses. They’re super easy to adjust. They’re made of high visibility material like a safety vest and include 360 degree bright lights. There are several color modes and flashing modes to choose from. It’s especially beneficial for Boo since he has a nearly black coat.

The best part - they’re on sale for 50% off right now!! If you’re interested, check them out here!

Lastly, we have some exciting news! Our local newspaper and magazine posted on social media looking for amazing animals that live in our community to feature later this summer/fall. We were urged to put our hats in the ring, so we sent in a photo of the dogs with a little blurb about them.

The editor immediately responded back and said “We will definitely include you and your dogs!”. Yesterday, a reporter reached out to schedule a day and time next week to interview us and the dogs, and have a photographer come out to get some photos as well!

The reporter suggested coming to our house for the interview and photos. I was like, “wouldn’t you rather go somewhere else to be able to see the dogs do what they do?” He responded and said dogs are typically more comfortable at home, so we would at least start there and see how it goes.

Knowing our dogs, they would likely be more comfortable out in a field or trail somewhere in harness when meeting strangers. Fingers crossed that the dogs will cooperate!

Stay tuned for more updates about this in the future…it should be fun!
