Hey, everyone! We know it’s been a rough week for a lot of folks. A lot going on in the political world, and the tragic plane crash near D.C.

Hopefully this little story will bring a smile to your face, or warm your heart, like it did mine.

Over the last couple years, Boo has developed a big fear of thunderstorms. That fear has turned in to a fear of just rain by itself now, too. I’m not sure what triggered it, but the poor guy just pants, paces, and shakes. His go-to is hiding in the closet, where he will eventually fall asleep.

But this week was a little different. We were laying in bed and heard Boo pacing around the house. Normally at that time, he’s asleep in his crate or on the couch. He usually gets too hot in the bedroom.

When he wouldn’t settle down, I let him in the bedroom. Pence was sleeping in the bed already. Normally, Boo doesn’t like to get on the bed while she’s on the bed, but he did this time.

I was trying to figure out why he was acting so strange, so I decided to check the radar. And there it was - sprinkles of rain around our house. It was breezy too, so the wind was probably blowing the sprinkles into the windows, and he could hear it.

He laid down on the bed right beside Pence. The closest I’ve probably ever seen them willingly lay together. When Boo laid his head down, Pence laid her head across his neck! I couldn’t believe it! It was the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen. It seemed like her motherly instinct was coming out, and she knew something was off. She was comforting him!

Of course, I tried to grab my phone and take a picture, but my movement startled them and Pence sat up. After a few seconds, she laid her head back down, but beside his face this time. And I did get a photo of that! Not the best though, because it was a long exposure in the dark. Unfortunately, she didn’t rest her head over him again, but just take my word for it, it was the sweetest thing ever.

They fell asleep like that, and stayed there for a few hours. Once the sprinkles passed and the wind died down, Boo was ready to go back out to the couch for the rest of the night.
